Welcome to The Tiger Protection Society

BAGH SANRAKSHAN SAMITI ( TIGER PROTECTION SOCIETY) was registered on 12-12-2006 under Society Registration Act 1860.

The main Objectives of the Society are:

1.To study and research the ecology, zoology and habitat management of the tiger, as well human aspects of its conservation in Uttar Pradesh.
2.To assist in giving concrete shape to the measures for conservation of tigers in forest areas adjoining human habitation.
3.To effect coordination and assist all such institutions and executive departments that are engaged in resisting the activities of organized gangs of tiger poachers.
4.To create a network of organizations which are engaged in tackling the problem of illegal trade of tiger skins, bones and other body parts and assist these organizations to achieve their goal.
5.To educate and motivate those forest dwellers and tribal people who are being instigated to capture, trap and kill tigers; to assist in providing alternate sources of employment for these communities.
6.To create strategies for rapid actions to deal with situations regarding tiger-man conflict and to assist the forest departments/other institutions in implementing them.
7. To assist the forest department/concerned institutions in training forest staff working outside protected areas, in the protection and conservation of tigers.
8.To assist the forest department and other concerned institutions in research, prevention and information gathering of tiger related crimes.
9.To assist in adequate equipping and modernization of tiger protection forces in protected and other forest areas, where sufficient numbers of resident tigers occur.
10. To establish legal cells and crime data cells in appropriate places, where the forest department/institution can be assisted in achieving conviction of offenders for severe sentences and punishments from the court.
11.To assist the forest department and concerned institutions in the implementation of eco-development program to ensure the cooperation of local communities in tiger conservation and also the accrual of benefits to them by way of employment generation, financial investment and improved regional development through eco-tourism related to tiger conservation.
12. To create a data bank which will facilitate networking and exchange of data between the state of U.P., neighboring states and the government of India, in matters regarding illegal hunting of tigers and related illegal trade.
13. To develop consultancy service and to provide to central and state governments, as and when required regarding the habitat management of tiger.
14. To institute and award research grants, fellowships, scholarships, prizes , awards and medals in accordance with the rules and regulations or by laws of the society.
